What a split system is
A split system is the simplest and most popular type of air conditioning. It has two parts: a slim indoor unit mounted high on the wall, and a compact outdoor unit outside. The two are joined by insulated refrigerant pipes and a cable through a small hole in the wall.
Split systems are ideal for a single room: a bedroom, living room, home office, conservatory, loft conversion, small shop or treatment room. They cool in summer and, working as a heat pump, provide efficient heating in cooler months.
People usually choose a split system when one particular room overheats, when they want quieter, more efficient cooling than a portable unit, or when a small business needs reliable comfort for staff and customers.
